Going native!

There always has been strong links between Scotland and France politically - the "Auld Alliance" - and here such links between Scottish and French Scouts are to be found with the French scouts wearing the kilt with their uniform, something that is common place in Scottish Scouting while enjoying their hike as guests of a Scottish District.

Plaid parading

While I'd rather the technical quality of this image was higher here is a good indication of the kilted scout taking part in some parade, all if you look closely are wearing wristbands which suggest to me this is a more contemporary picture than a number.

The usual image of a cub or scout tends to be one of either in shorts or longs which I don't personally like but hey that's another story for another day but in Scotland and oddly enough Belgium kilts as part of the uniform is really a thing and they certainly look very smart in them with their sporrans.

I'd rather more boys tried kilt wearing if either they fancied a change or find shorts don't suit them.

Scots Uniform

Today we're continuing around Camp topics

Original source: VintageYouthGroups

It is by no means uncommon in Scotland for Scouts to wear Kilts both at regular weekly meetings or to camp where on the top picture we see a scout posed outside his traditional wax canvas tent in his.

This isn't just a patriotic Scottish tradition but because wears often say they feel more comfortable in them.

In the second picture he's the only one in a  kilt surround by other Scouts and Cubs in shorts which looks like common recreational room where they are reading magazines which he isn't.

Just what the one in blue denim jeans thinks he's doing I don't know as honestly having worn them grudgingly whilst hard wearing they tend to stick to your skin and awful when damp.  I am quite sure BP wouldn't approve at all of his attire
