About

Two things run through what this blog is about the first is the sense in which I am and remain and 'adult but child' - a Boy in a older bigger body - and to which I talk about more on another blog and the second is how that Boy who wasn't given the opportunity unlike his peers to join the Scout Family as a Cub Scout is through engaging the practice of those principals today in his life becoming a Cub Scout in Spirit, learning his life lessons.

Scouting is really more about learning the ways of the world, learning to navigate challenges, personal development toward taking your place as asset to your community wrapped around fun, friendship and strong sense of belonging.

Working through the programs to the best of your ability, your learn new skills, develop new hobbies and interests that match your increasing abilities as you 'grow up', gaining awards and better still gaining self confidence and belief through greater independence.

That's why what really should of happened in 1972 as a eight year old physically and developmentally disabled boy doesn't have to stay as a missed opportunity:it is something I can put right and it is time to work toward those things today using those things around me and the knowledge of what I'd of been doing back then.

Though this blog I will also be talking about the changes in the movement as they apply to my recollection of it.
