It's hard to see this occurring today with the litigious society and cottonwool-itus around but as a boy I was and joined in with being roughhoused where it formed a part of being initiated into the social world of boys.

Some complain about initiation, period but every group has this drive, this need even to draw you with a collective experience and when they are removed with good intentions, often more riskier ones take their place.
