Roaring around the track

Something I didn't see much of back in the day was pedalled go kart racing which would of been very much up my alley loving speed and boyish competitive fun in the great outdoors as much as we have access to relatively undisturbed countryside here even if the roar of the traffic isn't so far away.

Summer may be almost over but let's enjoy the last couple of days of it.

Powered by...you

After the last post, I think this is a good summary of the kind of feeling of kinship and adventure you may well experience this time rowing a boat along the like with such beautiful views along side you, everyone having to work together.

Around the ages of eight to eleven I can remember rowing with friends and an adult a boat across a long extensive pool in the glistening sunshine having a whale of a time.

All for one and one for all

These boys are clearly signalling they feel being in the cubs is the most fun for them as they learn things and have fun with close friends even if one seems to have acquired a green wrist support somewhere down the line.

That to me always was the thing about being in all boys group the very intensity of the espirit de corps that exists between you all and the easy going fun.

Tom Hanks was talking recently about the all pervasive cynicism that is around today especially with adults and why it is he's chosen to play an adult who isn't like that for children.
I can't help but wonder how much of drip fed cynicism is actually harmful to children today and in that light it makes things like Cubs more vital than ever.

One, two, three...

More fun at camp as they swing their group leader complete with standard as the others are busy doing other thing.

That kind of thing is something looking back on it I loved in my earlier days, just having fun for the heck of it.
