Camp food preparation

As B team get on with putting up the tents with all the guy ropes, these boys get on with making a salad, finely chopping the unions, sorting out the lettuce and tomatos plus buttering the bread.
working as team isn't just a matter of doing the exact same thing as everyone else but each group doing a part in meeting the entire teams needs such as fixing a meal.

The before bit where each boy waits at an agreed location with his own kit bag and accessories before they make their camp.

Cooking in the open

Most likely today, we will be having a outdoor cooking session in the early evening with an improvised barbecue rather like this but we will be using part cooked on a regular oven  stuff to be 100% sure it was well cooked in the middle.

It's one the things around camp like experiences I love - no, not just the food, but helping and sitting eating in the open with the smell of charcoal being up their with bonfires for bring back child-like camp experiences.

Camp food while not being the focus nontheless plays an important part in camps in scouting because eating isn't just about getting the right sort of food to sustain you, it's also very much a social thing that requires you to take turns in making food, sharing and eating collectively as that pack unit.
