A little horse play along the way?

It appears to be an overcast day outdoors at camp but I am intrigued by what is happening as the scout in seven-eighths trousers seems to holding the other boys arm back but I'll be damned if I  can why on the evidence in this picture.

They may be horsing around - I used to that a lot at that age - but suspect it was some trek both are really meant to be going on along the field which at least is possible here at the minute.
